1971 to 1982
Ernie started our company in 1971 as Western Environmental Service and immediately
began developing instruments for measuring air flow in buildings. Shortridge Instruments was incorporated in 1979.
Past President, TBE, Metalsmith
1972 to 1987
Herb was Ernie's top technician in 1982 when Ernie decided it was time to focus on
Shortridge Instruments and sell the balance company. Herb became owner & changed
the name to Arizona Air Balance Co.

1978 to 2009
Fred was Herb's top technician when Herb decided to retire in 1987. Fred became owner and transformed the company into the digital age of TAB, while becoming one of the industry's leading experts.

1995 to Current
Byron joined the company in 1995 as temporary help, rose to become Fred’s top technician & general manager, and upon Fred’s retirement in 2009, became owner—driving 200% growth in just a few years.

Jared joined the company in 1995 as temporary help, rose through the ranks to TBE, then Project Manager, and now General Manager. Jared knows how things work & is known for making things happen.

With unmatched knowledge, loyalty, and dedication, Barb shaped AZ Air’s culture. Her legendary contributions and countless efforts define her lasting impact on the company. She is our everything.
Project Manager, Chaos Coordinator
2017 to Current
Crystal rose from report specialist to Project Manager and soon to be Office Manager. Calm under pressure, her complete dedication and loyalty make her the best chaos coordinator & cat wrangler ever.
